OLIVIA BRALEY —

Olivia Braley (she/her) is a writer based in Washington, D.C.

She is the Editor in Chief of Stone of Madness Press, which she co-founded in 2020. She is the Director of DC Operations for Discount Guillotine, hosting monthly readings in the DC/Baltimore metro area for emerging, established and experimental writers and performers. She has led dozens of writing workshops online and in person since 2018.

Her chapbook, SOFTENING, was published through Emerge Literary Press in February 2021. She is a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net Nominee.

Experience —

Olivia is a professional editor and ghostwriter with nearly a decade of experience writing across various industries and subject matter.


Beyond her day job, Olivia’s previous positions include: Poetry Reader at Longleaf Review (2020-2023) and Managing Editor for Colloquy (2020-2022). She has taught numerous creative writing and craft workshops online and in person for ages 10 and up with organizations including An Indivisible Art Collective and Latin American Youth Center. Olivia also does web design for herself and her journal, Stone of Madness Press.

Education —

Olivia holds a Master’s of Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, a B.A. in English Literature & Spanish from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is an alumni of the Jiménez-Porter Writers' House.
